HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE

For me, I do not want to pass in a hospital attached to all sorts of machines. I would prefer to pass at home or in a friendly environment. Hospice offers such solitude and creates an environment for peaceful and painless passing either at your home or at their facilities. For those over 65, Medicare takes care of all medical and related expenses involved. One considers Hospice, when one has done everything possible from a treatment point of view. One of my support group members described it artfully. She said that she had fought hard against her disease and been very aggressive in her treatment, and now she was going to be as aggressive in her passing by working with Hospice to be as comfortable with her passing when the time comes.
